Really just needed for shooting out to 600 yards. Occasional western hunt but primarily a range tool. Looking at an Athlon Cronus
12-36x50

Recommendations and shared experiences appreciated.

If you’re just using it for the range, I would go with something bigger. I have a maven 15-45x65 that I use for both hunting and shooting. On max power it can be hard to see bullet holes at that range.

I have a angled Athlon Ares 15-45x65 UHD and really like it. It’s a little heavy, but built really solid and in a nice small form factor. really great spotter for the $$.

I have the Athlon Cronus 12-36x50 and it’s a good compact and lightweight scope for western hunting, but I don’t think it is capable of what you are looking to do with it. If you are primarily wanting it for range use, I would suggest getting a larger scope like many others have recommended.
