Hey all. I am wanting to get a new spot Hogg single pin sight. What's the difference between the fast Eddie xl and the Hogg father? Is it just that the father weighs more and is a inch longer? What one would you guys suggest for hunting?
Thanks

Not sure in the difference but I really like my hogg father single pin. It's a tank man. No worries about hurting anything with the dovetail out and about hunting or general use.

Love my fast eddie, don't have the XL, I have the standard base. Love the double pin and new double pointer. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Hogg Father has full micro adjust for elevation and windage, including labeled marks on the dial to plug into programs like OT2. Makes getting the sight dialed in and sight tapes really accurate a snap. I believe the Fast Eddie is lighter, and doesn't have the same micro-adjust, or labeling on the dial. Double pin pointer is only currently available on the Fast Eddie, but I think Spot Hogg has said other sights will get it next year, but you'd have to send them in to be retro-fitted.

The longer dovetail also allows you more adjustment range to find the sweet spot for forgiveness if you torque tune your bow. I'm actually running the dovetail pretty close in right now, so in practice that wouldn't make a difference for me.

Thanks guys. Before I got my sdp I had a spott Hogg on my old bow I think it was the Hogg it hunter can't remember 100% though, the one thing I miss about that sight vs the sdp is it had micro adjust only it. I really liked that. But you can't beat going with a lighter sight either. Thanks guys I've got some thinking to do

i currently own 3 hog fathers and one fast eddie (non XL). The fathers are on my 3d, field, and tartet bows, the eddie on my hunting bow. I have previously owned 2 tommy hoggs and the boss hogg. For me and my style, I would never hunt with the hog father... why? It is so heavy and overkill for hunting that I just dont see the point. I love my eddie. I have the new one with the double pointer. I do NOT like that there are no calibration marks on the wheel but the non micro adjust is a NON point for hunting. It helps a lot with pins but when it comes to a slider the first 1-3 clicks dont move anything any way... and that goes for any target slider like the hog father. I like OT@ and TAP for programming my tapes, but I have no issues with the tape system that the hoggs come with either. Seem to be very accurate. I put some tape below mine and made my own marks to get out to 130 ish for practice.

For me, i am sticking with the eddie. If I wanted the micro adjust and calibration marks, I would go back the the tommy hogg. I would not run the boss again.
