Only been able to get out a couple times now, but chasing pronghorns around is a blast. Think im going to get a decoy of some sort as I feel that would have made the difference.

Got within 100 yards on all 3 stalks but ran out of cover. Only spooked one, the others I backed out to avoid education them. Hopefully I will have some pictures up next time I go out!

I learned really fast that not all antelope situations are created equal. Saw quite a few that were really good size, just in an unstalkable stalkable position.

I had enough of sitting in blinds turkey hunting back in Iowa, I moved West to get on the ground n be a predator. Im think a Be The Decoy pronghorn hat will do the trick, the bucks are starting to split up in some areas, I think an "intruder" should peak their interest.

Have a great spot picked out to try it on, should be fun

I have the 900 series tag which is good statewide but archery only. I really prefer to hunt with a bow. Proud member of the NRA and I love guns, just not for hunting purposes.

Took me 17 attempts to kill my first speed goat (spot and spook)

100 yds is their confort zone.

Just spent the last 8 days grinding away. Ended up unsuccessful but got within range several times. Finding brush large enough to draw behind was non existent in our unit. I think a decoy would shine for this and for looking over the other side of the hill. In my experience big bucks bedded by themselves are near impossible to stalk and its much easier to close the distance when they are moving. Also first and last light they don't see as well and are more venerable. Ive been busted by their noses more often than their eyes don't under estimate it. I agree spot and stalk antelope is a challenge but a great teacher on reading the land and choosing which bucks are stalkable and which are not.

The three stalks I got in yesterday, we got close enough before they either saw us, or we ran out of room, that I really think a decoy would have worked. Close enough for them to get quisitive, but far enough not to spook immediately

I tried the hat. They could have cared less. I think it would work better on dominant bucks gearing up for the rut. I ended up using my horses as decoys. Started at about 1500 yards out let em graze for a bit while standing out of view. And close the distance slowly letting the horses act natural. I got to 55 yards on a group of 20 lopes bedded when I sealed the deal.

I saw that horse trick on tv once. probably the best way there is to kill one appears to me. I don't own any horses tho.

I've noticed if there are horses close by, be a horse, if there are cows nearby be a cow. If elk/deer be an elk/deer. I'm not sure if antelope are necessarily afraid of humans. I think there afraid of anything out of the ordinary. But there also curious.

Now is the time to be out there with a decoy for sure!!! They've been starting to really chase out by me at least. look at Garrett Roe's HEADS UP DECOY system!!! Amazing and versatile and light

with my limited experience, ive noticed that my best chance at spot and stalk is when they are feeding hard. when their heads are down in the grass you can get away with getting a solid range on them and exposing yourself for a shot. plus they are calm and less likely to "jump the string". I get busted the most when I pop up to get a range or to shoot. here's a little guy I got last year after many, many attempts.
