I'm trying to decide whether I want a vertical double or triple pin sight on my new bow. I want to see where the second pin lands when the top pin is on 20 and what your arrow FPS is. I know the bow i'm getting is going to be at around 288-290 FPS with my arrow setup so I am just trying to get a rough estimate where that second pin in gonna fall for me.

Still can't make up my mind on what sight I want either. Boonie looks nice. Dialed PRUF crossed my mind as well for a triple pin. I know a BG dual trac I can set the second pin wherever. So much to consider. Not sure which direction I am gonna go.

My guess is on a spot Hogg dual pin you’ll be 35ish yards on your 2nd pin the spot Hogg triple stack you can adjust them so your pin gaps are whatever you want them to be

I love that you can adjust pins on the triple stack. But the housing ID is so large at a 2" ID I can't stand it. If they made a trip stack with a standard 1 5/8" ID housing I would already have it.

I had to upsize my peep to make it work when I shot it ultimately ended up going back to a 7 pin on a slider bar

Yes I had a triple stack without the adjustable bar so I put a bigger peed in to line it up with the bigger housing

I'm not sure. I dont have the bow yet. I've just been looking at speed videos and then just getting a baseline at my DL poundage and arrow weight and I know it will be around that 288-290 FPS. But that's all I know right now. I know it's not gonna be a for sure number I was just looking to get an idea where it would be at.

There’s no reason to have the first pin set at 20 yards. That first pin should be 30 yards at minimum. Might be able to get it farther than 30 yards. You’ll just have to shoot it to find out.

For western hunting ya. For whitetail hunting out of a tree stand no. Top pin will always be at 20 yards

I’m slower than you, 28” DL and 60lbs. Top pin @20, second pin is 34. Fast Eddie double pin. Hold high with second pin easy out to 40.

I shoot the double pin on both bows, one shoots 284fps the other 290fps.

When I hunt, I put the 1st pin on 25 and it puts the 2nd pin at 40. Top pin out to 30 yards is within 2".

Most people are 10-20 yards pin gap. Peep to pin plays a big part as well.

The smaller mrt ring on the triple stack is the same diameter as the mrt ring on the double pin, so unless you plan to use the single non mrt ring on the double pin your arrow clearance and peep alignment is the same between the triple stack and double pin.

I had the triple stack, but went back to the double pin. I like my 25/40 gap, and I don't need 3 pins at 20/30/40 to get to 40 yards. I tried setting the triple stack at 25/40/50, but that put the 3rd pin so far down in the housing I didn't like using it.
