Do those that have been a club member of sportsman's guide feel that they got their moneys worth out of it? I'm looking at joining the 3 month trial for $9.99 but am leary that I won't get the full benefits. What are your thoughts?
I'm in the process of planning a Spring Bear hunt in Idaho. So near future purchases will include a pack, spotting scope, tent, sleep system, cooking system, and other misc items. So yes I plan to have several purchases. Does the club pricing discounts and additional benefits offset the cost of the membership?
I'm in their trial membership now. I have 1 month left.
Over the past couple months, I've found that what I wanted they did not stock (yet readily available online elsewhere) or it was OOS so I'll not be renewing my membership. I've had this scenario a few times when I was just checking on SG to determine if a membership made sense.
Easy to justify it at $10 but no way at full price, at least not for me.
I was a member for a few years. Much of their items can be found on amazon or another website. Members may get a few dollars off (not a big deal imo.) I often found, anything that was on sale either didn't have my size or was out of stock.
I cancelled my membership after they stopped shipping ammo to my area.
My buddy signed up for the ammo deals. They kept changing the price once the ammo came into stock. Never honored his initial order/price, forcing him to pay more. They suck you in with cheap prices, then place your order on backorder status. Then they cancel your order. Then telling you the ammo is mysterious back in stock, having you reorder with the new "in stock" price. The ol' bait and switch.
I had one years ago for the ammo deals. The UPS guy hated me. Cases of ammo at prices some won’t believe. The cheap surplus ammo dried up and I quit buying there.
