Antelope nuts of Rokslide, I went on a pronghorn hunt in Montana last year and loved it. Came home and bought points in South Dakota and now I’m planning on using up my Wyoming points of which I have 5. My question for you guys is, do you guys think that the price is worth the quality that you get with a special? I am mainly concerned about opportunity and land access. Just want to hear some general thoughts about it.

What's worth it is always subjective and only the person spending the money can decide that for themselves. Like the comment above that says its too expensive. Many people wont even bat an eye at the cost as it is nothing in their annual budget.

For me, if $1000 buys me less hunting pressure and more public land I am spending the money.

There isn't any less pressure applying as special in the Wyoming draw. You just get put into a different pool that basically allows you to draw the sawm tags a few years sooner for paying more money.

Its definitely not worth it, but doesnt mean I or anyone else wont do it. When it was around $600ish for the antelope then yea, it was worth it. Being over $1200 now for the same thing no its not worth it.

I totally get the subjective part. I just want to hear what people‘s experiences and opinions are. Trying to figure out a unit to pronghorn hunt in Wyoming is more overwhelming than I thought it would be. There are almost too many options it seems.

Applying in the special could give you access to hunts you cant draw in the regular with your points. Those hunts could have less tags or better public land access.
