Lots of info online about that place. So much history as well. The local library here in Smithers has a few cool books about guides in the area, the titles escape me but check your library as well.

Good luck.

We are thinking Coldfish we fly in August 10 for 14 days. Might switch it up to Cartmel instead though. Kinda torn.

Ah ok. I’m going in aug 5th. I’ll be quite a ways from both those lakes 👍🏻 When I talked with alpine lake air they said they had a few people flying into cartmel and eaglesnest

I also got this tag, but not sure I'm going to go yet. LEH for Goat is also open then Caribou of the 15th. The sheep might be pretty pushed around

well if you dont think your going to go do us all a favor and dont put in for a goat tag there.. i bet outa of the 100 tag they gave out probably 50-60 go... and you'll never know where the sheep are if you dont go.. ive logged about 150 hours into researching the area and have a spot picked out. and w,e if i dont see a single sheep. still better than sitting on the couch...

I'm sure you'll see sheep
talked to the CO and the outfitter gets older sheep every year
It's just a matter of a little competition. looks like I can't send you a PM yet until my account switches after my 10 messages. I think after enough research everyone with a 6-20D tag realizes that the same area holds sheep. Just a matter of who finds them by opening day.

What benefit does this area have over the GOS areas?

If I put in for a draw I would prefer less pressure. It seems like a draw here and you are still competing for sheep.

There isn’t really a benefit over hunting there rather than GOS. It’s just your hunting in the spatsizi. If I had a jet boat I’d go fort Nelson area to be honest. Fort Nelson area also holds more sheep and tend to be bigger as well. Spatsizi is mostly fly in as well

Ya that's what I figured. So much history in the Spatsizi that it would feel nostalgic hunting in there. However, if I was paying to fly in I think I would try and pick another area and get somewhere away from people (easier said then done though)
