Spartan Precision SpringBok Bipod Review

If you like the Springbok Bipod, then you will love the Springbok Tripod....

Spartan Precision Equipment is proud to announce that its Springbok Tripod has received the NRA Golden Bullseye Award for Gear of the Year, one of the most prestigious honors in the shooting and hunting industry.

The NRA Golden Bullseye Awards recognize the best new products in shooting sports and hunting equipment and are selected by a committee of editors, graphic designers, and veteran NRA Publications staff, representing more than a century of combined experience. Products considered for a Golden Bullseye Award must be newly introduced and available to consumers, evaluated by an NRA staff member or regular contributor, exceed expectations in performance, demonstrate innovation in design and function, and reflect the style and quality befitting the shooting and hunting industry. This year's awards marked 24 years of recognizing excellence across the category.

"Receiving the NRA Golden Bullseye Award for Gear of the Year is a tremendous honor for our entire team," said Rob Gearing, Founder and CEO of Spartan Precision Equipment. "The Springbok Tripod was designed to address the real problems hunters face in the field – speed, stability, and adaptability in constantly changing conditions. This recognition from the editors of American Hunter validates our commitment to engineering practical, innovative solutions that perform when it matters most."

Designed for rapid deployment in demanding hunting environments, the Springbok Tripod features Springbok silicone technology that lets shooters transition from prone to standing positions in seconds without mechanical adjustments. Its twistable head provides added stability for a finer point of aim, while the MagnaSwitch quick-detach system enables fast rifle attachment and removal – making it ideal for tracking moving targets.

Have a Spartan Springbok (2 years) and a Javelin bipod with Tac legs (5 years). Also have a lifetime's worth of various shooting sticks with Steady Stix winning for most mileage and durable. Since figuring out the Springbok, all my rifles and binos have a Spartan insert.

Didn't take long to arrive at favoring the Springbok as a hunting tool. Tho it's not the best in class for winning a shooting contest, it's plenty enough. Combining everything else about it offers unique advantages - what I can share:
  • simple, no parts to fail
  • weightless
  • tough/durable/flexible/hard to kill
  • quiet - a mild thud sound, no metal pings or springs
  • feet are smart
  • quietly and quickly does what it's primarily design to do as shooting stick
  • can use and carry interchangeably with a Spartan bipod while hunting from a pack

Two discoveries that offer the most value for me:

Replaces tripod for glassing with binos. When hunting out of a backpack I rarely bring a spotter. With help from the top rubber flex, can glass steady and comfortably with 12x binos or RF optic, no clunky tripod weight to carry.

Any Spartan design allows me to hold the top of the bipod with my non-trigger hand to pull/load the rifle butt against my forward shoulder press, creates a stability vice that shuts down reticle movement. If nothing to lean against and some elevation, I'm likely shooting prone from a short bipod or pack.

People can pick apart the individual values all day long... My encouragement is to recognize the combination of capabilities.
