For optics, I prefer an Arca clamp (my wife does photography, so I already have several Arca plates and tripods are used by both of us).

As Spartan Precision now makes an Arca plate with post, I will use that now.

The reason this saw so little use is shooting off of tripods has been large regulated to an idea for me (I need to amend my above post, this did go to the range once).
