Is Space Rain enough for an early season rain jacket in Co? Here in Utah it is fine as any rain we do get passes quickly 90% of the time.

Good stuff to have in your pack, I've carried it the last couple years.

Stay out of thick brush and watch about snagging it as it's not that durable.

Duck tape works but tenacious tape works best for repairs.

For the price i'd go with the kryptek posideion at Sierra trading post, checkout the gear deals section.

I already have the Space Rain. For the money and breathability I would pick up a Marmon Precip over the Kryptek.

I have used the Space Rain pants and jacket for the past few years. For the money spent and the weight of the set I have no complaints. I haven't had any tears or rips and they wear well over my other cloths. They are always in my pack and use the jacket as a wind breaker now and then when it is cold out. The set is always in my pack.

I use them and for price they work great as long as you are careful with them. I did rip my pants fairly easy snagged on a tree branch.

I think it is weather and terrain dependent. Had a buddy that took a set to Co a few years ago. Area we hunt has a lot of deadfall. It was a really wet year and the second day it pretty much rained steady all day. He got back into camp that night and the pants were gone from the knees down and the Jacket required fair amount of duck tape. It stayed wet the entire trip and he was wet the entire trip. I'd at least have access to some other rain gear back at the truck or base camp.

I have used mine for two years in CO. No complaints and we crawled through plenty of deadfall. I was careful not to snag them though.

As a pure leak test we stood out in a pouring rainstorm during a football game last year...the entire game. My daughter wore the space rain and I wore an older pair of cabelas rain gear. I was absolutely soaked. She was amazingly dry. It literally poured the entire 3 hour game.

They are fine to wear for an hour or two to wait out a storm and are very light weight. If I were to be hunting and hiking in rain gear for extended periods though, I would want something more durable and breathable.
