Looking for an outfitter or meat packer that’s interested in packing a 3 person camp in about 6.5 miles up a trail, in Southwest Montana. We have all the gear (wall tent, stove etc). We used 5 mules this passed season, but that family member is no longer able to run his mules. We just need our gear packed in and out, and elk packed out (assuming successful). We will pay appropriately for the service! Anyone have any leads on someone interested in this? Feel free to PM, and I can share the area and unit we are hunting. Thanks!

Just make sure they are a licensed outfitter. For everyones sake it is not a good idea to hire a local or a guy off the internet.

I have no names but MOGA (Montana Outfitters and Guides Association) has, I believe, the list of them all.

Thanks, Legend. I’ll check them out and take a look at the list. I definitely want to do it the right way and make sure no rules are broken.

You can also call the corresponding forest service office and tell them where you want to go.
Each guide service has their own area to operate sometimes with overlap, sometimes not.
