Good climber or tree saddle set up is the way to go, depending on where you're hunting. I have both but generally lean toward the saddle, as I generally pick a different tree each time and it's a quieter set up.
If you're looking at hunting in pines, whether thick or recently thinned, I'd look at using a climber and getting 30 feet up at least. Better for scent control and thermals.
I hunt Sumter National Forest around Newberry and have good success.
I'd agree that if you can have success on an Eastern Turkey, you can hunt anything.
