South Slope Yellowstone cow hunt

Was thinking about this hunt and was wondering if anyone has ever done this hunt. Would be the early oct hunt. Looks like there is plenty of public land, just wasn't sure about the private land, and if the elk held up on mostly private.

I am also hunting in the south slope of the Yellowstone early October with my two sons. I would appreciate any help or tip on where to find the elk..
