Trying to put together a trip with a couple of the "Dads" (Grandpa's really) for this fall in SD. I know I'm behind the ball on scheduling, normally for me this would be a DIY trip with the dog so scheduling 10 months ahead of time just didn't happen. With considerations for age and mobility, and a strong secondary consideration for trip cost, I'm leaning heavily towards lodging/access similar to what I've seen posted @dukxdog in the past. Don't really need a fully guided hunt, but access to good property where we can get those with less mobility in positions for success is the focus. I've tried doing this on public land in the past with average to poor results. Trying to keep the lodging/trespass fee to around $1500/hunter if at all possible. There are several websites offering this sort of package, anybody have any experience or success doing something like this?

The backup, as always, is a couple dogs, a couple trucks and I'm sure more public access than we could ever get through.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Mark

Call around to some lodges a lot of them offer lodging food and access and I think that 1500 is right in the ball park. If you come a little later in the season (hunting is better) it will probably be easier to get scheduled in. We have got some timely rain I think the bird numbers are going to be amazing this year,
