Source 1000' of 550 paracord?

Before I go to amazon I'm wonder what is a good source for a 1000 foot spool of 550 para cord.

Try an army surplus store. Or find an buddy who is in the military. I have several rolls of it.

I didn't give that much consideration but I should. How does ones determine fake or not?

Dont forget about ebay. Ebay sells lots of new items for cheaper prices and free shipping. Amazon usually can't compete on the stuff i buy. Ebay is my go to source for diy supplies. I wouldn't be too concerned about "authentic" pcord unless you are making parachutes.

For guys wanting 100 feet of pcord, hobby lobby carries a wide selection of made in usa for $8.99. They almost always have a 40-50% off coupon on their site. You just cant beat that.
