I just got back from California from picking up my new street rod....a 49 Chevy. One of my lifelong friends has Parkinsons and cannot drive and he wanted me to have his car. Really nice, not a show car, just a driver. 350 v8, 400 tranny and a/c. He made me a smoking deal I just couldn't pass up.

Sad to hear that about your friend's condition. Looks like your new ride is ready for an American Graffiti remake... my dad always wanted a '50 chevy as it was his first car. Enjoy driving it.

Back about 25 years ago my Dad found and restored a '47 Plymouth Super Deluxe Coupe for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. It was the same make, model and year of the car they had when they got married in 1952. He even found the factory paint color. All stock.

They drove it from SoCal to Indiana and back after the anniversary party, They were married 69 years before he passed. (Mom is 90 and still going strong)
The car is in my garage and I still drive it.

My first car in 1958 when I was 17 was a 1950 Chevy just like this one only it was green.
