Great pics, this is a great time to get out there and scout or just hike, leaves are down, things are dormant and it's a different landscape from spring and summer.

I tend to break trail to look for wildlife for pictures. Seen five whitetail this go round. The three times I spotted them were all at night. I try to get out year round regardless of weather.

The Appalachian Trail between Iron Mountain Gap thru Hwy 19E. I'm not real familiar with the towns there, but I think it starts in Erwin, TN, ending in Roan, TN.

I plan to hike the Unaka Mountain Range in the next couple weeks. The AT passes through, with good views. Just south of this hike.

Nice pics, that's a region that's on my pretty high on my list to do a hunt some year. The Appalachians are sort of a forgotten land in the whole backcountry/mountain hunting culture. Totally unique not to mention difficult whitetail hunts.
