Some of my selfbows

Your bows are beautiful! I made a bunch when I was younger and killed my first deer with this ash bow. I made some for my kids when they were young too, but haven't hunted with one (or any other bow) for a long time. Here in northern NY, there's very little incentive to bowhunt and it's tough enough with a rifle... They are darn fun to walk around the woods with though, whether you're looking for deer, or just shooting stumps.

Really attractive bows!! I've made several, mostly Catawba and Cherokee style (very simple bend-through handle rectangular design) in black locust and plains style gull wing bows in Osage, none so nicely finished as these. I shoot flared nocks with the common Indigenous assisted pinch grip. I fell love with a replica Comanche gull wing bow and short plains arrows, very accurate and easy to shoot with a short draw to the chin. You don't have to look where you're nocking the arrow, just keep your eyes on the target, grab the arrow from the bow hand, nock and push the bow to the target and release in a fluid motion. Surprisingly accurate, I can see why so many cultures fell in love with this design.
