He's no stranger to many of you... @B_Reynolds_AK joined us on the Hunt Backcountry Podcast as part of our Backpack Hunt Breakdown series. It was an honor to have Ben share the story from a recent solo sheep hunt — but more than just a good story, this conversation was both inspiring and informational.

https://exomtngear.com/blogs/podcast/408 or search "Hunt Backcountry" in your favorite podcast app and go to Episode 408.

Listened to the whole deal. WOW, part hunt, part ordeal. Super well deserved ram. Like the famous Mongolian sheep guide Adya Tundev said, "all sheep hunters crazy".

I listened to it while on a trout fishing trip in CO. It was hands-down the best podcast I have listened to in years. Maybe ever. No product shilling, no BS. Just the story of the planning and execution of an epic hunt.

That man is a beast. Not many men alive could do what he did solo. Congratulations on a well-earned trophy.

@B_Reynolds_AK there are plenty of things I hear about others doing and think it would suck, there are few that I hear and wonder if I would be able to survive because of insufficient grit (lack of technical ability is a different animal). So, hats off.

This was one my favorite episodes in recent memory. I really appreciate how humble and matter of fact he is. It’s almost easy to gloss over some of the details because he mentions them so nonchalantly. Hats off to Ben and to Exo for putting him on.

I spend a lot of time looking at the background of Ben's sheep hunt photos trying to figure out his spots. That way I can be sure I avoid where he's hunting. I don't stand a f'in chance beating that guy to a ram even if I had a 2-day head start.......

Good story and congrats dude.

I simply can't imagine what kind mental toughness it would take to pull that off. The distance, elevation and weighted pack are all beyond my scope, then add in the cold, rain and wind. That is a whole other level of miserable.
He has my respect and a whole bunch of admiration, on my best day I couldn't have got 1/2 of it done.
