Who uses a solar panel for reupping the juice in their portable battery?

I purchased GoalZero panel and pack and have been nothing but disappointed, panel is slow to charge and pack is drains too quick, especially for the money(~$200). My Amazon foldable does the same job, if not better for $40

We do a review + raffle on Solar Chargers and recommend the Anker PowerPort Solar Lite 2 as the best bang for your buck ($50) when it comes to weight (12.5oz) vs output (15w). It's also the most chosen amongst our winners.

Completely agree with this. While we rank GZ highly for battery packs - we do not recommend them as highly for backcountry solar. Their bigger options are better - but unrealistic to carry those in the field.

I have had a knock off Amazon pannel/battery all in one by Hiluckey thats has worked great for me over the last 4 years. Used it in Afghanistan and on multiple trips up here in Alaska. Has been dusty, wet (well damp, never fully immersed) but still running like a champ. It takes a full alaskan day and half in the sun to recharge, but I never use its full capacity. Do all the standard power saving things on your electronics and it will work fine for a week + long trip.
