SOAL - A traders thread

I’m curious why you think this investment strategy won’t work in the SOAL thread? Why does it have to be black or red 50/50? Who recommended rolling the dice on a penny stock?

I think anybody that recommends a stock should back it with the WHY.
I recommended the penny stock. Gonna cash out my 25% profit and go buy lunch lol.

I will nominate CAPT. a penny stock that has shown a little pop lately. Just bought an established mining company and I think they are timing it right. Sitting at .67 per share right now. .50 seems to be the bottom.

Disclaimer, I’m in it already for a whopping $40.

This did not age well.

See the post right above yours lol. I got lunch out of the deal. But yah, didn’t see the rest coming!
That's penny stocks for you. No judgment it's just the nature of the game which is basically gambling. I've lost money and made money on penny stocks but that one fell off a cliff fast! Glad you got out!

I consider throwing money down on red or black. And I only do it for about $50. I have had some losers for sure but also some of my biggest winners have come from them.

Part of my investment strategy is to be risky with some of my money. I like a 50/40/10 split of big cap growth/dividend/risky.

$.67 to $.06....thats a sweet 90% loss. :poop:

A guy has better odds playing Blackjack.

I've said it on the Stock Trader thread but with hunters getting sucked in losing serious money, it bears repeating;

Experienced investors won't touch Penny stocks. Why:

1) they are easily manipulated...and they are
2) Its too easy for scammers to come in and run those up....then leave you hanging
3) the companies themselves can be sketchy....or even non existent. Many have no audited financials or any financials at all, most aren't profitable...they are essentially a good idea that isn't a proven business model.
4) For every one you make money on there are 10 or more losers.
5) its the greater fool theory with these....guys that are in them pump them hard

The problem is that everyone knows they are sketchy- even the guys in them. So nobody puts real money in them. Even if you do hit one right, it's not like you put $100k in it and you end up with a million bucks.

The worst possible thing that can happen is to dip your toes into penny stocks and you actually hit one right. This is not investing....not even close. Investing is evaluating potential and controlling risk.
