Keep in mind a caribou in velvet will only afford you 3-4, upwards of 7 days if the conditions are optimal before it requires preservation. Outside of that you risk losing velvet or clumping.

I keep reading that same thing and I must have gotten super lucky, from the time I killed it until I got home was 10 days and the taxi saved it less a couple of spots the size of a nickel.

The stop-rot looks interesting, I'm looking for anything that's going to take up less weight than salt as long as it works.

Anyone with experience on how long the stop rot is good for after using it?
