Same thing here. Went from 225 to 195 since July when I really kicked into training. By training I mean eating properly and walking/hiking with a goal of 3 miles a day. I mixed in heavy pack hikes once or twice a week. Now I'm below 200 and don't want to be that low. I'm trying to gain weight back for the same reason you note which is losing weight on the hunt. If i can go in at 205 that would be about perfect. Then come home around 190 i'd expect. Leaving October 12th. Time still to train. I must admit I'm starting to feel like I'm not doing enough and running out of time. Probably just stress and excitement of the adventure.

Lost 35lbs over the course of a year training for my hunt this year (leaving tomorrow!). I have been eating pretty clean and no issues maintaining weight. The last week I have tried to gain a few pounds because I know i'm going to lose weight during this hunt. I know that going from 205 to 170 made a HUGE difference in how I felt and it makes it much easier to climb and pack weight.

Fortunately for me I train year round and am just a thin guy naturally, I typically range between 155-158

If I really run trails while in New Mexico I drop closer to the 150 mark, I keep a pretty clean diet most of the year as well!
