Generally look for forums/threads where you have something to add, or where you have an interesting question to ask related to the forum topic (see if it’s been asked a bunch of times already).

In for "1", paid the money on another site because the item in the classifieds was rare and worth it to me. Same item was posted here, but the nut was 30 bucks on the other board so I paid up there. Paid off in getting the item so definitely worth it

No, it is the same access. The $50 just means you don't need the 10 posts to access the classifieds.
