Only protects from the impatient scammers. We get the classier ones, everyone knows an impatient scammer isn’t worth getting conned by.

Pretty sure it's mostly if you want early access to the classifieds. It's also a pretty good way to tell that somebody's not a scammer. You can also make donations to the site which helps keep the classifieds going.

I think you can donate any amount to be a good RS citizen, but if you want early access to the classifieds, etc., I think it's $50.
