I'm looking for a new sleeping bag (or quilt) that is spacious enough (I hate feeling cramped) and in a subdued color (brown, green, grey, etc). A Snugpak Softie 9 Hawk is available in a nice dark coyote brown color and it has an optional Expanda Panel that can be purchased to widen the bag. Both items can be had for approx $229.00 together. Now, I briefly had a center zip Kifaru slick bag (long/wide) that was spacious enough and comfortable. It definitely felt like a quality bag. However, it's also about $200 more plus the 5 string stuff sack if you go that route. Anyone have experience with both bags or can recommend another bag based on what I'm looking for? (Spacious and subdued colors). For the record I'm about 5'11" and 205 lbs.

I'm 5'11" and 200 at elk season (I'm fatter now stupid off season) and I use an enlightened equipment revelation 10° LW and I won't be looking for anything different until I wear it out. I hate cramped mummy bags. With the quilt I sleep better in the back country than at home.

I don't have much faith in the efficiency of the Snugpak insulation, whether it's a kifaru slick bag or a EE synthetic quilt I'd go for something with Climashield.

the Wiggy's bags are roomy and tough but will weigh the most and pack the largest.
