After bear hunting this year I started out earlier then what I typically do and found out how vital snow shoes can be in early season, I was running some old tubs snowshoes but I’m looking to upgrade to something lighter weight I’m currently leaning towards MSR lightning ascents but was wanting to get some more input from you guys

Whatever you get just make sure it has the plastic ratchet style straps or anything other than nylon straps that get iced up. My old tubbs snowshoes have the nylon straps and it's annoying when I try to tighten them and they are completely frozen. I don't snowshoe enough to bother getting new ones but if I were going to I would go with MSR.

MSR lightning ascents are the way to go. I’ve run mine for about five years now, and lots of different terrain. I really like them, they get great traction on all sides and are tough as nails.

MSR Lightening Ascents are a sold choice. You can get snow shoes with more float, but you loose a lot of the usefulness on steep ground.

Msr make some very good shoes and easy to use bindings and super durable"..along with very good traction for steeps.

I have atlas montages and really like them. I’ve had them about 4 years and they get a few hundred miles put on them each winter.
