I like wearing sturdy boots, but for trying to get close I can't walk very quietly in them over rocks.

thinking about these: https://www.amazon.com/SneekTec-SneekBoot-Stalking-Wildlife-made/dp/B08KSXWN9L?th=1&psc=1

Also thinking about just using a few pairs of old socks or getting some cheap soft moccasins, but sharp rocks and thorns will be a serious hazard then.

Looks like something like the Sneek Tec would allow me to keep the protection and support of my regular boot though which seems nice.

But its $100, anyone try these or something like them and have an opinion?

Ive use the sneek tecs for years on the ground in Hawaii spot n stalk bowhunting axis deer. they look goofy but work very well. they can just take a little bit to get on and off and just get hot if you try to wear them all day (at least in Hawaii when its 80+ they act as an insulation layer) and can get muddy pretty easily. they also don't have the greatest grip in steep terrain. but walking on dry leaves twigs they are fantastic.
