Looking for a suggestion on a small backpack that will hold binoculars, a fuji x camera, water bottle and probably snacks and stuff. Plenty of focus on the “small” part
Have you looked at the osprey katari packs? You could run without a bladder and keep a bottle in the side pocket. They have the day lite pack which is a little larger but the side pockets are useless for holding water bottles so I got rid of mine
The lumbar pack that started the craze in the 80s, the Day pack lives on in its modern incarnation as a favorite of hikers and outdoor-minded travelers.

I have one like new few years old I'll sell with strapettes
Another vote to look into some hip packs. I always thought they looked stupid. But, gave one a chance last year. And have been converted. It's very comfy for short hikes and bike rides. If I'm going out hiking with the dogs for a few hours-this is the pack I grab now.
