Got my first bear a couple of weeks back. Decided to try rendering the fat in a slow cooker.
I froze the fat first, to avoid a big sticky mess. Removed from the freezer, and cut into small (1/2”x1/2” ) cubes. Tossed in the slow cooker for 8 hours.
Produced quite a bit of grease, but fat still had some “squeeze” left in it. Decide to put cooker on instapot setting for 25 mins. Nearly doubled the amount of grease of got out of it.

Nice! I love cooking with bear grease. I should have enough to get me to next spring when I can hopefully replenish my supply.
