I have the 733 and have always loved it with the v5 head. It’s a little long in the pack and got me thinking about the 634. It shows only one inch less in max height and I can look through my binos fine standing at 6’1” with my 733 so I think I still should be able to with the 634…. But does the 634 take a spotter as well, and is there anything else you are giving up except a little bit of stability?

i dont have a 634, and sorry to hijack. But what is the weight of that 733? Its a tripod that has always interested me and have read mixed weights of it. Total weight with the va5 is fine by the way. Whats the length of it compacted down for strapping to the pack?

I have the 634 and the 834, 634 is great for bino’s and a small 65mm or spotter, the 834 handles the 85mm scopes better

I just bought the 634 for my ATS 65, very stable and easy to use even without extending the lowest section of the legs while standing with the angled scope and I am 6ft. Complete setup with the VA-5 is very lightweight and compact.

634 is ok with my 95mm as long as it is kept low. Not great extended high enough to stand and look through. Great for 10x and even 15x binos though. Would probably be fine with a smaller/lighter spotter. Doubt youd be giving up anything other than stability, nice little package with the va5 head on it.
