I have purchased a Meopta S2 and on hand I have a Slik 700dx with the rage two handled pan head.
It's no back packing tripod but for the time being ill make have to use of it, it will also see duty as a hunting tripod with a pig saddle and appropriate head.
Anyhow does anyone else use this tripod and 3 way pan head (with the round quick detach plates) as it comes standard and how does it work for grassing ?
Would you bother buying a new head for the spotter or does ths one I have work ok?

I figure for target shooting etc. the slik 700 will work fine.
