Slik 634 users - removing center Post

I know I found this one time - what does unscrewing/removing the Slik 634 center post cut in weight? And if you've done so, do you like it in this mode? Thanks

I think between the center column and the other screw on piece under the legs there, it saved something like 3-4 oz on mine. I think the legs alone weigh something like 28-29 oz now. Factory is 33ish.

Much easier to use for me without the column, it’s thin and aluminum so any height on it will shake with anything more than a lightweight set of 10x. It also collapses a bit smaller so it’s slightly easier to slide in and out of pack pockets.
