Slider sight arrow clearance question

I just got my first slider sight to give the single pin a try. I haven't got it to the range yet but installed it, in the directions there is a warning about making sure that the stopper is correctly installed so the aperture doesn't impede the arrow path. I was wondering if there is any way to tell if your arrow will clear the sight at its bottomed out position without shooting it?

I just turn my arrow around backwards and put it in the rest. Hold the shaft in place with my hands and put the fletching below the sight. Then run the sight down until just before it hits the fletching. Then I make a mark so I know how far down I can go. Hope that made sense.
