Slik tripod locks

A while back, I had decided to go with a Slik tripod. But, then they decided to discontinue the twist locks in favor of flip locks. I wondered if they were going to offer both options, but that's not the case.

So, what are your opinions about the Slik tripods with flip locks? Good or slow/frustrating?

Worth buying, or should I look to another company for an equivalent tripod with twist locks?

If going with another company, which one would provide an equivalent product (light carbon fiber and great rigidity for at least a 65mm spotter)? Similar pricing (not double)?

I didn't care for the twist locks on my Summit SS tripod. After changing to the Slik 624 w/flip locks I like it much better. Won't be going back to twist lock anything any time soon.

Like mrbillbrown I had the SS tripod with twist locks and didn't care for adjusting them. Last year I bought the CF634 and like the twist locks on it much better. In general I don't think flip locks are necessary for a tripod and add more stuff to snag on in your bag.

Not much help but just my 2 cents.

I prefer the twist locks especially on the 634. I can grab all three (same leg) and twist them all at the same time. Makes very quick adjustment of the tripod.

I had the SS summit and now the 624. I love the twist locks so much better. You can fist the entire group and turn them all at once. Super fast. And flip locks hang up in my pack badly. They are like grappling hooks.
