Sleeping in your bag with clothes

I always wear a long sleeve shirt so that I can leave my bag open without getting chilled. I'm a warm sleeper and this is the best way for me to regulate my body temp.

If I have wet clothes, I will either wear them or put them in my bag with me. I almost always wear my socks to dry them too. I use down bags and quilts and have had no problem drying my clothes in my bag.

I have found doing this in a Down bag negatively effects the performance of the Down especially after 4-5 days. Just my experience.

I've never had an issue at all. Last year, littlebuf and I had really wet weather during elk season (western Washington) and went to bed wet almost every night. Every morning I would awake warm and dry. I have been doing this for about ten years.

One thing that will hurt the down though, is compressing it when it's wet. That is something I would avoid at all costs.

I wear whatever necessary to bed to stay warm with no adverse affect on the clothes. I've worn everything except my boots and First Lite North Branch pants to bed.
