Sleeping bags for the kids that won't break the bank?

Looking for some cheaper option sleeping bags for my kids. It will be 3 season use, probably looking for 20 or 30° bags. At this point their sleep systems will be on my back. Was leaning outdoor vitals. Wondering if guys found any hidden budget minded gems lately that they were digging?

Kelty Tuck has been good for my wife and kids - no issues and especially with a good pad/mat have proofed pretty good to their rating.

You might look at Paria's down bags, if you're looking to keep price low and keep them relatively packable.

I have 15 degree big Agnes and they work great. A little bit hard to compress since they are synthetic but are for larger kids and will allow them to grow into them but can cinch tight for when they are smaller.

Kelty woobie 30. My 3 year old slept fine in high 20’s low 30’s temp. Use a backcountry.com coupon and not too bad price wise. I was shocked at the quality.

I’ve bought a variety of different bags off Sierra Trading Post. With a coupon you can often get a pretty nice bag for about 50-60$ for the kiddos.

How old / tall are your kids, and are you backpacking with them or car camping?

We have REI Kindercones... they've been great. I even took my kiddos (8 and 6 at the time) out when it got down to 22 degrees F. I stuffed their Kinders into some warm weather bags (like a turducken) and they were more than toasty.

They're great bags, but they do NOT pack down small and are pretty heavy. If you're car camping they're great though.

As I currently sit here camping/yelling at my kids I cannot help but say get a babysitter and take the wife instead.

I need some bourbon in my coffee.

But seriously, we just got some cheapies from Walmart since they out grow things so fast. Warmer clothes inside them when it's colder has worked just fine for us here in Iowa.

I just bought my kids some adult sized sleeping bags from slumberjack that are pretty nice and were on sale cheap. Figured id get them the adult size because they grow so fast. If your looking for lighter weight Hyke and Byke has some fairly cheap lightweight down bags, but i have no experience with them. they have good reveiws on amazon

They are 11 and 6. Guessing 5` and 4 `ish. Need to measure them. I got a seek outside 8 man tipi with stove, and would like to get some weekend backpacking trips in with the kids. They have/had the Walmart stuff, and am over the big heavy bags that aren't warm, and have junk zippers. Would like for the bags to be somewhat packable, but also have realistic expectations I think for the weight for this price point. Thank you guys for your input. Good stuff!

Thanks for the suggestions. Went to rei this past weekend and got a kindercone 25 for my son. Paid 55 dollars for it I believe. They had a synthetic women's agnes bag on clearance for 90 dollars and went with that for my daughter. That was the Victoria regular. The kids are pumped to get up to northern Pa this weekend and try them out. They are totally gonna cook in this weather we have been having. Thanks again!
