I really like my SG Chilkoot 0 degree. Light compact and fits me nicelyI’m looking to grab a new sleeping bag for an upcoming mule deer hunt in Alberta next fall. Hunt will be last week of Sept, so nighttime temperature around 0-10C.
The bag will mainly be used for base camp hunting, snowmobile hot tenting, etc. but every 3 or so years I’ll be taking it on a back country hunt.
Given that I’m not looking to spend the money on a high end argali, SG, WM, etc.
Does anyone have experience with Tiaga sleeping bags out of Vancouver? They seem to have decent specs and cost for my situation (~500 CAD vs $1200 for the others)
Looking for a 20F bag.
I have fathered friends and zen bivy (and consider western mountaineering and FF more or less interchangeable).
A 10 degree bag from either FF or WM could reasonably be had for $800 or so CAD but still over budget.
You could get a zen bivy 25 degree quilt and sheet for within your budget or the 10 degree option for 650 CAD, I know its a touch more but I think very well worth it.
