I wish they'd come back in stock. I am obsessed with hoodies and I think I would end up using it on just about every single hunt

The kangaroo pocket might be handy sometimes, but am I missing something—no zipper at all????

Windstopper does a very good job of keeping wind out and pretty good job of keeping precip out; what it doesn't do a good job of is breathing. I'd definitely want a pretty deep zipper in front.

Also looking at the hood, the two draw cords for the hood (if that's all there is), is not nearly as good as an adjustment on the rear of the hood ie the old Flash, all their rain gear, etc.

I still use my old Flash quite a bit, mostly as a lightweight rain jacket when expecting no to light precip. It's pretty darn nice glassing in windy conditions as well. I think they were a little premature in ditching the Flash.

You would be correct in all you take away. For wearing as an active item it does have flaws. I also agree with the flash being taking away to quickly. I had two of them and they were really useful. The hoodie for me is a stationary piece. If I do walk in it its in the teens but so far I have only carried it in and used it as a midlayer. I plan to carry it in and use as an outer in mild days. I don’t believe it would be a choice for me in an active situation.

Have you put it on a scale by chance; don't see a weight listed on their site.

Speaking for myself, bought it because it was an incredible deal ($63 delivered) Being in subalpine, it matches most of my other Sitka stuff. I have only used it one weekend, but was able to layer underneath without overheating. Typical Sitka quality. Nice lightweight windbreaker, comfortable. As others have mentioned, if you tend to get hot, just throw it in your pack for when needed.

I like the fit as well, although hooded pullover sweatshirts aren’t for everyone. I wear sweatshirts all the time. Will buy another in non camo if they do another promo pricing event.

My experience in attempting to order this item has been nothing short of a crap show.
  1. Went to the shitka website.
  2. The Windstopper hoodie was shown as “out of stock”.
  3. Signed up to be notified by email when back in stock.
  4. A few days later received email that item was back “in stock”. This is good!
  5. Went to website to purchase.
  6. Size and color shown as available and in stock. Placed order. This is also good!
  7. Ordered cancelled by Sitka.
Repeated steps 4, 5, and 6 three times. Yes, that is - order cancelled by Sitka THREE times. Not sure what’s going on…..

Cherry on top: item no longer shows up on the Sitka website.

Double cherry on top: apparently they added my email address to their mass emailing list for all their notifications. (Not what I signed up for, glad I used a throw away email address). “Unsubscribe” function appears to not be working, either.

And, finally….Email from Sitka today:

Thanks for reaching out!

Unfortunately, we were unable to fulfill that portion of your order due to inventory. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working to get this item back in stock as quickly as possible. If applicable, please sign up for email notifications on the product page to find out as soon as it is back in stock. We can't do backorders.

You were never officially charged for the missing item(s). However, please allow 5 business days for the authorization charge to fall from your bank statement.

Have a great day.

Not a great experience. I am done with this.

Large weighs 20 ounces. If they come back in stock, I dont see how anyone would regret grabbing 1, especially if they offer them at the half off discount.

I wore this the other day and was able to draw on a cracked out ole doe with the wind being pretty consistent. After washing and wear it seems to have quieted down a bit, but Id like to see them do a simple pullover like this in the stratus outer fabric.

Thanks for posting the weight. Lighter than their Jetstream, but their old/discontinued Flash pullover was just under 8 oz, tough to beat that weight.

Yeah my flash in XL weighs 8.4oz, windstopper L hoodie 20 oz, and jetstream in L at 25 oz. I keep the flash in my pack full time. I can see using this windstopper hoodie a good bit more often - it just wont move the flash out of my pack. Might end up selling the Jetstream, as I think Id use this windstopper hoodie anytime (and more often) than I would use the jetstream
