Sitka WARMTH

Curious, I had the chance to get an amazing deal on some new Sitka in open country. Ended up getting the merino gloves, mountain pants, traverse zip T, and Jetstream jacket. Now, my question... How warm should I stay in the traverse zip T and Jet stream jacket? Good enough for glassing during late season deer in Idaho? Too hot if I add the heavy weight sweatshirt?

Thanks any and all comments appreciated

Buy a puffy. I like my amazon basics puffy. Very nice for the price.

I like my jetstream but for low temps it doesn’t offer a lot of insulation. Traverse is a nice mid layer. I agree with the puffy suggestion. I sized up on the jetstream so I can get a kelvin lite hoodie under it. The combo of a mid layer like the traverse, a puffy and a jetstream is pretty warm.

Just my two cents, but last time I went out hunting It was low-20s, dry and windy. I was hunting from a blind, so it felt damn cold to this Central Texan. Wore a core lightweight, core midweight, and Jetstream. Definitely added my puffy layer pretty quickly and then was very comfortable. I have the Kelvin Lite Vest and Kelvin Active Jacket, but I think just one medium puffy should be plenty.

Wearing the Timberline pants (slightly heavier than mountain) and a midweight Kuiu merino base layer, my legs were comfortable enough but wouldn’t have minded a little more warmth.

As always, YMMV

I have a Traverse Zip T I wear over my Base layer or light shirt. I like to use it as an earlier season outer layer. I then have a Kelvin lite hoody to wear under my Jetstream Jacket.
I've yet to put all of them together but here in SW Idaho I expect I could stay warm with this down to zero for short to medium periods of time while glassing. I wear Mountain pants all year long with really thin silk weight base layers early to medium weight layers all when it gets colder.

I'd say you have a great start but need more of a medium layer for warmth as the traverse zip T and Jetstream doesn't offer enough insulation. I'm not sure how warm the merino gloves are?

Good to hear then. Ive got a carhartt Gilliam thats a puffy i won at a company party. Might see if it'll work for that then.

I'm actually in SE Idaho. I'll see how the gloves are when I get them. Not sure yet. They I think will ship Monday
