Sitka Vs. Kryptek

Wow it looks good but it's way past my budget. All of that gear is like 3,000 for a full set my budget was 2,000 and sitka usually stays under that.

So you need everything matching colors/camo?

if you want "the best" clothing system, you may want to think about no getting everything from just one company.

I have owned both. I had the first generation Kryptek. It was good but got torn up very fast. The fabric frayed and became "fuzzy" on just one hunt. The seems had major issues on the Lightweight pant and waterproof gloves that actually weren't waterproof. The crotch actually tore out on the second day I used the pants. The merino base wore out very fast as well. The pants anyways. That being said, the gear did its job when it came to comfort, protection, and functionality. The pattern blended well in most areas I hunted. I have heard they made huge improvements in the gear and have not checked out since the Gen 2 stuff came out. The Koldo rain set was definitely waterproof but not packable like the Sitka Dewpoint. It's more like the Downpour set without the brushed finish.

Sitka makes amazing gear. Rain gear always did me well. Pants held up just fine and the technical aspect of the entire line is top notch. The pattern had me captivated like most guys. It is not as effective as it is represented to be in my opinion. I have been picked out by many animals while wearing Open Country. And no, I wasn't moving.

I am now wearing First Lite/ASAT as I personally witnessed friends get away with things that I have never seen. Moving and deer ignoring them. Since I switched to it a couple of weeks ago I have had multiple encounters with deer at less than 20 yards and actually decided to test how much I could get away with. A doe, a buck, and two fawns at less than 15 yards with me moving around, grabbing my phone out of my pocket, laying my bow down, and they didn't spook. I am truly a believer. As far as the line goes, it's not anywhere near as complete as the two you asked but has the necessary items to build a reasonably complete system. Their merino is better than both Sitka's and Kryptek's offerings.
I know you asked about two specific companies but just thought I'd throw that in there since you haven't made you purchase yet.

You can't really compare the ASAT brand vs. First Lite. The ASAT brand ones are primarily cotton and most of us just won't risk running cotton on a backcountry adventure. There is a reason gear from Sitka, First Lite, etc. cost a few $$... I understand where you are coming from $$ wise, but wool is a totally different experience than poly cotton. Appreciate the quiet factor, but poly is not wool...

The essential pants are not cotton. Neither is the vest or jacket I mentioned. 90% of my gear is First Lite. The 3 items I mentioned are better in the ASAT line than similar items First Lite offers. That is why I suggested them. The Kanabs for instance. You cannot have a durable outer layer that is made of merino. It just can't hold up to the abuse.

As far as LIGHT WEIGHT, BREATHABLE and WATERPROOF

The OTTE gear is the best on the market. Same material as Westcomb, but a bit more durable/user friendly for hunting. The pants are 13oz, but the jacket is a bit heavier.

Staying out of the camo argument.

I am going to run FL base layers for this season under my Kryptek gear. I have only froze so far so I really don't have anything to lose. I have a buddy who is wearing Under Armor Treestand base layers and a FL Chama hoody and he was sweating last night in 15* weather with a set of Sitka bibs and a FL puffy on.
