I mix and match both of these brands depending on the hunt. Sitka has more options and makes great products, the new ascent pants are next level! But the First Lite aerowool, guide pants and SEAK jacket take a back seat to no brand IMO.

Are the ascent pants more for warm weather? Will the be good for mid oct Idaho weather?

I live in Idaho and hunt both North and South. I am going to move to a heavy pant like the First Lite Guide pants or Mountain pants in October. I have been wearing the guide pants the last few years in October and November. But I do like the waterproof butt of the Timberline pants in November. Those cold winds might be a little to much for the Ascent pants unless you run hot and move continuously.
