Sitka Stormfront gaiter--how are they?

I found a pair of Stormfront gaiters on sale at a good price ($70). Anyone using them? Good? bad? ugly? Opinions?

Not sure about the storm front but the thunder heads were too small for my size 13 boots and my calves. I hear the new 2019 versions are larger.

I have a set and I like them. They cover my boots (size 13) and are high enough on my calve to protect them from snow. They fit tight against my leg once I got them adjusted properly.

They’re being “reworked” for 2019. I like last years version ok, but they needed to be a hair higher/longer and have better retention at the top. Both of these issues are being fixed by the ‘19 version.

Have a older pair w/zipper/velcro (Large). They're to small and won't fit/zip over my size 10.5/11 boot. I thought they'd be cool because they sturdy and camo but were a huge disappointment. Not sure how you screw that up. Gaiters are the ladies tube top of footware.

My 2018 worked well, big improvements from the last verison. Nots sure how they can make them better for 2019..

When you find a quiet pair of gaiters point them out. Haven't found a pair yet that passes that test. I have no complaints with my 2018 Stormfronts. Gaiters are like rain gear, noisy but effective.

I* stand corrected. Found a pair of used 2019 Sitka Stormfront gaiters in Subalpine and they are radically different from my other pair in OC. They are more snug, no external buckles and they added an internal ladder lock system for a lower profile. Best of all the outer layer is soft and quiet, not the Gortex gaiter of the original line. I got a pair for $50. off the AT site. Nice upgrade Sitka!
