Sitka Kelvin Lite or Reg Kelvin Jacket ?

Not enough info, need to know what types of temperatures you will be using it in... what layers under or over? Rain? Wet Snow? Any snow?

I have the Kelvin lite jacket and it's been a great piece of gear, it is super light, very comfortable and surprisingly warm for how little insulation there is in it. I've layered it under rain gear, the 90% jacket, a fleece jacket and just a camo shirt and in all kinds of temps and conditions, the Kelvin Lite jacket will always have a place in my pack. It's also my pillow! Even though I have had the lite jacket in some pretty dam cold temps I am fixing to pull the trigger on the Kelvin for my frigid hunts, I hope I like it as much as I do the Lite

For most of the hunting I do, I don't think the Kelvin light will give me enough temperature gain. For early morning bowhunting in September, it would probably be fine though. I am planning to purchase an uncompahgre puffy to fill this role, but if I was set on a sitka piece I would choose the regular Kelvin.

I've got both and use the K lite for early to mid season layering. If it's cold enough to use my reg Kelvin I typically have the incinerator jacket strapped to the bag and don't need a full reg Kelvin underneath.

I am a big fan of the regular Kelvin. Lot more comfy sitting to open the zipper a bit than to pack a couple onces less and need more warmth.

I have used the kelvin lite quite a bit in the CO high country it's a perfect piece when packing and cover me for most of September with a fleece pull over and merino shirt. That being said It can be a little light sometimes. I have dealt with the minor chill I get during the colder times up high but if you don't mind a little extra weight the FL puffy or the Kelvin will make sure you don't get cold with good layering.

Depends on the temps and what I'm planning on doing. I have both. If I'm planning on sitting a long while or if it's cold enough, the regular gets the nod. If I'm planning on sitting for a bit, but not long enough to get downright frigid or if it's just cool temps, it's nice to pack less up the hill. Of if I'm not planning on sitting at all, but it's a good idea to pack a bit of insulation just in case sort of thing, I'll take the Lite.

I'd dial 877.SITKA.GR and ask your question. They just might tell you about some new options for 2015... Nothing wrong with either jacket, but its worth a check in.. ;)
