This.400 bucks
looks like they’ve already given a ton out based on all the five star reviews they have on the website from people that got free ones$230 is about $50 more than the equivalent lacrosse boot in the non-goretex version. If they truly fit better and therefore hold your foot better in any sort of terrain (doubtful) people will pay that in a heartbeat. Some
people will pay it anyway, and you can bet sitka/gore will give hundreds of pairs away to influencers as marketing.
Never worn extratuffs. Honestly, only ever seen them used as fashion footwear, never seen anyone using them in the woods or marsh. For you two guys who seem to be fans, what is it about the extratuffs that is so much better? @The_Crab_Slayer @WRO
The reason I ask is that the only extratuffs Ive seen have smooth soles that would be useless in steeper terrain. Do they make boots that can be used in a swamp/mountain terrain combination, steep muddy river banks, etc?
Maybe I should try a pair when my current ones wear out. What model do you use on steeper terrain? Looks like the only ones with a mud sole are the “alpine” ones?I’ve climbed some pretty steep stuff in mine, they’re the most comfortable best fitting rubber boots out there. I’ve hiked into rivers all over in mine. I have a set that’s 20 years old and still not leaking. The soles clean out really well, I know guys who’ve killed mountain goats wearing them.
