What other Jackets are comparable to the Sitka Jetstream Jacket? Just curious what is available…….

Stone Glacier Headwall, Kuiu Guide Pro, Kuiu Axis Hybrid

I have a 1st gen Jetstream, Headwall, and the Axis Hybrid. They're all pretty good and I don't have an overwhelming favorite. The Axis is the lightest but also has a thinner fleece interior, the Headwall is quiet and has a decent gridfleece style interior. The Jetstream has that thicker fleece and is probably the warmest (although they're all fairly similar).

From my experience, there are lots of comparable soft shells out there with similar features and warmth levels but nothing has been able to stop the wind like a Jetstream.

I upgraded to the new Jetstream this year and I was pleasantly surprised at the revision. I was far less impressed with past revisions, enough so that I had kept my first gen for a long time.

There was a jacket made by Nomad - NXT something. It seemed nearly identical and about 1/3 the price to the jetstream. I wear it a lot. There was a vest, as well.

Another discontinued model that was similar and in many ways superior to the jet stream is the Filson Reliance Neoshell jacket. It was actually waterproof but had soft shell durability. There were a ton of them around for a while at a pretty cheap price.

I have a jet stream jacket in subalpine. I think the jet stream is a little heavy for the price/use for many applications. I really like windstopper in the lighter weight applications - which seems to merit the more expensive Sitka price.

I have the jetstream in both open country and blaze. Were I buying today I would likely get the SG one though that does not mean I think its necessarily better, have not put actual hands on one yet. I am not curious enough to order one.

I almost like the Black Ovis Lone Rock softshell better than my jetstream. RIP
The axis hybrid is also a contender.

I purchased the Pnuma Waypoint jacket since the pants are my favorite late season pants. It is heavier than my JetStream ( don’t know what version JetStream) November on the Waypoint is the one I grab, pre November it is the JetStream

I ran down this road and tested more of them than I care to admit. The jetstream current and last gen are the best at blocking wind and fit my body type the best. Take that with a grain of salt as I have to use large tall size for my abnormal long torso.
They all have their pros and cons, really comes down to what you plan to use it for and what one fits your body type the best. Kuiu is short in the torso, SG is cut longer everywhere, Sitka offers regular and tall sizing.

Didn't like that the Jetstream as didn't have Velcro cuffs but it was sized a little bigger than the Kuiu Axis Hybrid. I still prefer the Kuiu as seems like a better jacket overall but I never sold the Jetstream as its my backup.

Jetstream is the standard. Check here, EBay, or on sale if price is a concern.

I wouldn’t trade mine for anything I’ve tried so far. Black Ovis, SG or FL. I think they’re the best at wind blocking and fit for me.

Anyone used the First Lite Suppressor……. It looks similar to the Jetstream.

The jetstream has been my go-to for seven years. From mid-50s drizzle with the pit zips open, to a blizzard in the dark at -13. Not a rain jacket, but it’ll keep you alive in a pinch. Layer it right, and it’s unstoppable. No plans to switch
