Looking at core lightweight in solid black as I do a fair amount of ground blind hunting, and in Oklahoma the early season can be very warm, so need something that is breathable and wicking. My question is the lightweight core a better option than say the fanatic hoody or apex hoody or even the heavy weight hoody....

Anyone with experience with the multiple hoodies available and which would serve dual purpose as a good single layer when warm but a good base layer when cold?

Lightest to warmest
- core light weight hoody. Light thin and cool. More of a long sleeve t shirt with a hood and other features
- apex hoodie - mid weight. Very quiet. Some cool features. Shines as a mid weight outer layer for bow hunting but as a layering piece you give up access to the kangaroo pocket and the elbow pads are bulky.
- core heavy weight - warm. Slim fitting. Great layering piece. Nice fleece performance.
- fanatic hoody - about the same warmth wise as the heavy weight. Front pocket. Hand warmers. Some nice features and less slim fit.

For what you describe I think the light weight core is the answer. The apex could do the job but it is too warm for really hot weather IMO. The other two are insulation pieces and way too warm in hot weather.

Appreciate the input folks! Your thoughts mirror mine so it looks like the lightweight is gonna be the ticket

The fanatic hoody or apex hoody and the heavy weight hoody all hold heat in by themselves. The lightweight hoody will breath and if you get wind stop over it like a jet stream then it does help a lot with warmth.
