Looking for a lighter sheep shell than my Yukon jacket. These are around 13 oz each, anyone like one more than the other? Or have another suggestion in that weight range?

Watching.

After deciding to replace my existing rain gear due to weight, I have been looking at both those pieces. So far, I'm leaning towards the Sitka. It uses gortex, a product I am very familiar with and have total confidence in.

I would like to hear some experiences on each

Haven’t had a vapor but I had a boundary stormlight from FL and it wetted out and leaked real quick. The vapor is a 2.5 layer like the boundary which to me means less protection for the waterproof membrane than a 3 layer shell.

Also, the vapor doesn’t have pit zips, the dewpoint does. I have to be stationary or it has to be pouring to put on a rain zacket with no pit zips otherwise I might as well get wet from the rain because it beats sweating my ass off (but I’m a sweaty dude).

My dewpoint has performed as well as my higher priced and perennial top ranked Arc’Teryx alpha FL shell with the supposedly superior gore pro laminate and heavier face fabric. Plus, camofire has had dewpoint jackets up frequently for 40-50% off. No brainer!

I have dewpoint pants and vapor jacket. I think the dewpoint is better but I am happy with the vapor.

Vapor is quieter and has a soft feel, wets out quicker but dries quickly and stays waterproof. Dewpoint is "crunchy" and louder but not to a fault.

Equal cost dewpoint for sure but at a better cost I very happy with the vapor.

I have ran both, and the Vapor leaked on the first hunt. My dewpoint is probably my favorite rain gear. It is discontinued for 2019 that is why it is discounted so much. I do know the new 2019 cloudburst jacket is supposed to be the new dewpoint with packability.

Vapor is a great lightweight jacket for me. It is super light and packs down super small in my pack. Definitely a solid choice of lightweight rain gear!
