What types of temps are you comfortable with in the traverse pant.

I haven’t used them much except for a couple day hikes and then taking down some stands. Side by side they are the same weight as the previous version of the ascents with a way better cut to them. They are slightly heavier then the current ascents.
I have two pairs of the original ascents, they get me into mid sept most years. I would say a range from the 50’s to the sky’s the limit. I think the traverse will be same. Much below 50 I will want a base layer or heavier pants like grinders or mountain pants.

What type of durability are we talking for the Apex? Is it gonna get frayed from waking through briars and worn out when sitting in a tree stand? Or are they just not gonna withstand abuse like falling and tearing a knee or something along those lines?

Briers are a no go, stay away from anything barbed with the Apex pants. I learned that the hard way, tenacious tape to the rescue though. You should really focus your search on the new Traverse pants. Slotted in between the Ascents and Mountain pants, and stretchy. No knee pad nonsense either. $149 they are the best deal on sitka pants.

Reviving this old thread. While Sitka's on sale, im plannng on adding another pair of pants to my arsenal. I currently have the mountain pants and have really put them through the ringer. Zero issues with them, but im looking for something that breaths better during early season. For those who've had the Apex pants for a season or two. How have they held up? Where I hunt in the PNW, I encounter alot of briars, thorns, etc.

The Apex have mesh pocket linings that help them breathe and I open my zipper when it gets really hot which helps a ton. As far as durability, mine have held up great and I've worn them a lot the past 3 seasons as well as Spring turkey. I live and hunt on the west side quite a bit as well as E-Burg and Idaho, durability hasn't been an issue for me yet but I haven't wildly plowed through a bunch of black berries with them either.

I'll say it again. I'd buy the Traverse pants over the Apex. First turkey hunt I did in my Apex pants I ripped them in two places. They've been tenacious taped ever since. They are quiet, and breathe well, but if I were looking for a lighter pant right now it would be the Traverse pants.

I tried those on as well and they just felt cheap. The Ascents seemed durable and not to noisy but may be to breathable in the northwest. Decisions decisions...

Traverse left, Apex right. I would say the apex is a bit more durable but the traverse is a bit more comfortable. The traverse looks like its it worst shape but they get washed more as my summer scouting/trail cam and stand hanging pants so they get the worst of it. The apex was ground hunted this whole fall season. Both are keepers IMO.
My bro has some mountain pants that he loves as well, I don't think you can go wrong with either of the three.
The biggest downfall of the traverse is its breathability which is also its strong suit.
The biggest downfall of the apex is its skinny jean leg style and NO cheek pocket for my wallet! Who does that?

I like the apex pants and hoody, i dont have the ascent but see no need to try them. Having knee and elbow pads is nice, also nice that they can be removed. i really like the material and fit of the apex too, im slim and i dont like baggy clothing in general, especially when bowhunting. Im 6' tall 180 lbs and size 32r pants and large hoody fit me perfect, i have room under them for a layer when needed. Wore them for 25 days this september and only washed em once in the middle of season, they do a good job of not getting stinky

I have both and I prefer the Apex. The apex hoody/pants is my favorite set for western hunting in September. The pants are VERY quiet and durable. I find them more quiet and more comfortable than the ascents, though both sets are good.

The Ascent pants are great. Lightweight and breathe well. They are not particularly quiet as others have pointed out but they're not overly loud like some fabrics. They also run a bit slim, at least in my case.

though it sounds like the op and the thread reviver have purchased and moved on, i'll add my input for those reading later.

the ascent was too loud for me and very thin. the apex pant i have is quiet, comfortable and has both the knee pads and pockets i like. they are great for my early season 80* to 65* daytime high hunts. the mountain pant is quiet once washed a few times and fills in every thing below that. i start under layering when temps get below 39* for daytime highs. i do plan to add some puffy pants to these for winter glassing. fwiw, prior to running the apex pant i started using the mtn pant for even my early season archery because it is so comfortable. i had to get creative for temp regulation but i dealt with the heat for all the other perks the pant had. the only complaint i have about them is there are no rear belt loops for adult sized belts. i'm not a big fan of their integrated belt. maybe they changed that on recent models.

I always wear the suspenders with any of those pants. Saves a lot of aggravation when wearing a pack.

Reviving this thread as I will be in alpine AZ with lows in the morning of 50F and highs of 80-90. Should I get the ascent or the traverse? Would I get too cold in the mornings with the ascent?

Zip-off long johns are your friend when you have lightweight pants on in the morning.
