I am deciding between the two. I am looking for a nice hoody for high country 3rd season Colorado Mule deer hunt. Looking for versatility and breathability. Have also considered the Black Ovis 250 for the price, but I'd rather buy once and cry once. Thanks in advance.

I have had the apex for a bit it is a really cool piece but the front pocket bothered me and didn’t think it was comfortable with the elbow pads in.

The kiln is a good thickness and very comfy (tried on but never owned).

last week I was at the Kuiu showroom and messed with the hybrid 260. I will be ordering one of those in the near future to fulfill the piece that it appears you are looking for. Recommend checking one of those out as well. It should be a bit cheaper too.

Decision may come down to if you want merino or not. First lite stuff is solid IMO, I just really like the front pass through pocket on the kuiu personally.

Thanks for the feedback, I will look into Kuiu. It is really hard to order this stuff when you can't try it on.

100% agree and they all fit different. FWIW I am 5’10” and 165 and wear for most tops a medium in FL, large in KUIU, and often large in most things Sitka (Apex fit best in medium though and had a large to compare with).

Kiln doesn’t breath very good and takes a while to dry. I wouldn’t buy unless it was a late season baselayer.

I love mine around home/town though I wear it everyday and now working from home all day.

I have the kiln and if it ever wears out I'm buying another one the same day. Absolutely love it!
